Have you ever thrown out a signature that you have received?

For me, the answer is “YES” to both of the above questions.
There have been times that I have been so disappointed at the poor care an artist has taken when signing for me, or the poor legibility of the autograph, that it’s almost an embarrassment to display it. I have had some pieces of memorabilia – ones that I worked very hard to get – ruined because the celebrity signed “what might have been” by marking on top of other signatures or not even looking at what they are signing.

I never want to appear ungrateful for a signature. However, as in the case of the Bruce Springsteen signatures below, the autographs are so far off the grid of how he normally signs, that I find myself actually having to defend their authenticity; to have to state that, indeed, these are Bruce Springsteen signatures and they were really obtained
at the date, time, and place identified.

Whatever you are thinking as you view Bruce’s signatures below, I too started thinking it seconds after I obtained them, and am still thinking it now.

Nevertheless…
